A team from the Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption had a success in the Cachar district when it caught red-handed the Forest Range Officer, Lakhipur,

Debabrata Gogoi was caught with the accepted bribe money after a chase of almost a kilometer. Gogoi on seeing the vigilance team realized that he is being trapped, and ran away from his chamber along with bribe money.

He however was caught after a hot chase of about 1 km from the Range Office by V&AC team.

GP Singh,  Special DGP, Law & Order, Border, Director V&AC,  Assam Police shared on his social media the information along with the video and photographs.

Assam Cop Singh in his social media post wrote, ‘we are continuing a special mission to expose the roots of corruption between government officials and employees. All lawful action has been taken against them ’.

In another incident today, Assam Police’s V&AC got Madan Nath of Nagarbera Revenue Circle of Kamrup district arrested while he was taking illegal money as a bribe.
